SIGMASOFT® Virtual Molding is fundamentally different than traditional plastic design simulation tools. When process simulation is coupled with all mold components, cooling channels, complete runner system and part geometries, the entire injection molding process is simulated. The coupled 3D fluid and heat flow calculations are made over multiple consecutive injection molding cycles. This results in Virtual Molding, where the complete mold and process can be optimized, leads to much higher accuracy in the simulation results, which in turn allows engineers to validate, optimize, and make accurate and confident decisions about tooling designs and process parameters for the entire process window. Covering the entire process window provides engineers with the ability to set up a sustainable and repeatable molding process, assuring the production of good parts under a variety of conditions.
